SELF PORTRAITS

2004

The self portraits of this series are records of my perception of self at a given point in time. These impressions are brief and distorted like a surprise glimpse of my own face in a window. Often the aspects of self that are the most visible to me as I continue my quest for self identity are reflections of other people-- the memory of a beloved elderly neighbor in her garden, the despair of a sad friend.
